Capitani Coraggiosi is a company founded by Marco and Silvia in Otranto (in the eastern south of Italy). They are “Capitani”, expert sailors, both of them are “Coraggiosi” because able to choose a life style a little bit different from the one traced by the common routes, a life style where sea is the daily fellow traveller.
We have been choosing to be sailors since a long time, together with the enormous sacrifices and satisfactions it involves, and we mean to share with other people our living and sailing experience. We trust in sailing as a unique travel instrument, as an instrument which is able to make us find the right time for our thoughts and feelings; we know that it’s quite beautiful spending days dreaming about everything is hiding beyond the horizon, but it’s not as leaving on board a nice boat in order to safely discover the sea.

Marco Chiurazzi is registered in the official Italian files containing “sea-going people” and owns the professional certification of “Driver of Pleasure Craft”.
Silvia Casavola is registered in the official Italian files containing “sea-going people” and owns the licence in order to drive sailing and engine boat without any limitation.
Both of them are national sailing instructors.
In a region called Salento, in the most eastern point of Italy, at the bottom of the heel of the wonderful “boot”, embraced by a little bay and hidden by kilometers of pinewoods and Mediterranean vegetation, it’s Otranto.
Otranto is a place rich of light and history, Mediterranean harbor, always an important international cultural crossroads; the distance between Otranto and Greece is only 45 miles.
It’s this geographical privileged position which makes Otranto and its harbor as a centuries-old crossing of each route, the last station for each road (here the Roman Appia road had its end and there was the boarding point to the Holy Land), the par excellence market, leaving and arrival place, the natural way out for each coCapitani Coraggiosi suggests itineraries all over the coasts of Salento and Ionian Greek islands, but it’s possible to sail in Croatia, Montenegro and all over the Mediterranean Seammunication with the East.
