The Cyclades Islands are beautiful islands around the coast of Greece. These islands are some of the most beautiful and wondrous places for sailing holidays and yacht charters around Greece. A thrilling part of the Cyclades Islands comes from how there are so many different islands to check out around the area. There are more than two hundred different islands that make up the Cyclades with many of them being completely unoccupied. When going around the Cyclades guests on a yacht charter or sailing holiday can enjoy all sorts of impressive beach areas. These include such places as Paros, Naxos and Serifos, islands that are known for their white beaches and their impressive marble formations. The island of Mykonos, which is located around the central part of the islands, is another popular place to enjoy when on a yacht charter out here. Mykonos is noted for its amazingly luxurious nightlife and clubs that make this such a popular place among tourists. Santorini is another beautiful island around the area. This southern island is home to a museum that features many ancient Greek artifacts. The Sacred Way, which features a variety of ruins including homes and baths, is also featured around here along with the home of Ptolemy. A number of islands with various beautiful landscapes and artifacts can be found as well. Delos is an island that is noted for being the birthplace of the god Apollo and is home to all sorts of archaeological ruins while the northern island of Andros is home to a massive castle ruin. Plenty of diving areas are also available. These areas are ones that offer all sorts of underwater caves. In fact many people believe that some underwater areas are ones that belong to the lost land of Atlantis. When going to the Cyclades Islands a charter will generally start up in Mykonos. This comes from how Mykonos is home to the Mykonos Island airport, an airport that has frequent service to and from the Greek mainland including Athens. A wide variety of yachts and sailing boats can be found from different charters but in most cases the smaller boats are going to be more popular. This comes from two factors. First, the islands are very close together and trips between one of the islands to another can be short. Second, with docks and marinas around the islands being as busy as they are it is easy to have a tough time going from one area to another on a larger boat. Therefore most boats will be less than 150 feet in length and will fit twelve or fewer people on average. The meltemia winds that come around the Cyclades Islands during the summer months are very comfortable. These winds are cool northern winds that come around the islands. Thanks to this temperatures can be very comfortable throughout the season. During much of the year temperatures will be relatively warm though. They will usually be at 20 Celsius or 68 Fahrenheit in intensity.
